Is Cranial Sacral Therapy Safe for Children and Infants?

Children respond well to Cranial Sacral therapy because it is gentle, non-invasive, and effective in ways they can intuitively recognize. Even small children quickly get used to the work as they develop trust in their practitioner.

Even a busy toddler who won’t normally lie still may quiet down after the practitioner makes even brief contacts on the spine, head, and sacrum. Sessions with kids are generally shorter than with adults, since there has been less time to damage their bodies and thus less treatment is needed. Any problems that can be resolved during infancy or childhood can prevent decades of medical treatment and physical discomfort later on.
CST has shown itself to be effective in the treatment of a myriad of problems in infants including birth trauma, ear infections, colic, skeletal asymmetry and even severe and long-lasting conditions such as autism, meningitis and cerebral palsy.
